Job summary

The Arc of Somerset County is seeking a 35 Hour Direct Support Professional (DSP) for 4pm–11pm shifts in residences and group homes within Somerset County, NJ. The role supports individuals with I/DD across daily living, community engagement, and ISP-related activities.

Pay is $18.91 per hour. Requires a HS diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and preferred 1 year of I/DD experience. Duties include daily living support, nutrition, ISP collaboration, and medication assistance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• One year’s experience I/DD (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers in skill development, activities of daily living, personal care, domestic living, recreation and socialization.
• Ensure assigned clients’ nutritional needs; assisting with feeding as necessary.
• Assist consumers in nutritional planning, grocery shopping and preparation of all meals.
• Collaborate on the development/implementation of consumers’ Individual Service plans (ISP).
• Train and support consumers in all areas of their ISP.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Train and support consumers in the community including: social, recreational, cultural, religion and education networks.
