Job summary

The Arc of Somerset is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily living, community activities, and residential settings in Somerset County. You will support with personal care, meal planning, medication administration under supervision, and ISP implementation, promoting independence and choice.

HS diploma or GED is required; a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license required.
• One year’s experience I/DD (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers in skill development, activities of daily living, personal care, domestic living, recreation and socialization
• Ensure assigned clients’ nutritional needs; assisting with feeding as necessary
• Assist consumers in nutritional planning, grocery shopping and preparation of all meals.
• Collaborate on the development/implementation of consumers’ Individual Service plans (ISP).
• Train and support consumers in all areas of their ISP.
• Assist with medication administration.
• Train and support consumers in the community including: social, recreational, cultural, religion and education networks.

Pay:$18.91/hr
