Job description

Position Title

340B Billing Compliance Analyst - Remote

Position Summary / Career Interest: The 340B compliance analyst is responsible for maintenance, audit, and optimization of the 340B Drug Pricing Program for the health system. Regular maintenance includes monitoring the 340B split billing software to ensure accuracy. Audits must be completed in accordance with hospital 340B policy. All activities are performed as part of the 340B compliance team under the guidance of the 340B Oversight Committee. The ideal candidate will have at least an intermediate skill set in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Assist the 340B Manager with pharmacy operations related to the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
  • Serve as a project leader for 340B Program functions.
  • Evaluate patient eligibility for qualified and non-qualified patients by reviewing medical records, insurance plans, and hospital status.
  • Use data management programs to filter out non-eligible transactions, such as drugs used during inpatient care, Medicaid patients, free drugs from manufacturers, drugs at non-eligible locations, or prescriptions by non-eligible providers.
  • Perform scheduled audits; resolve reconciliation issues as they arise.
  • Conduct financial analyses to recognize value opportunities within the 340B Program.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and system improvements to enhance compliance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the 340B Program.
  • Continuously improve the efficiency, value, and support of the 340B Program.
  • Collaborate with the Oversight Committee to develop audit metrics.
  • Perform financial analysis specific to hospital or covered entity operations, and recommend improvements.
  • Track financial impacts, identify root causes of adverse trends, and suggest strategies to stabilize the program financially.
  • Understand the split-billing system thoroughly and educate staff involved in purchasing to ensure proper operation and compliance.
  • Manage manual or non-automated 340B data within split billing software and assist buyers with order placement using appropriate accounts.
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical duties as required by the department.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, or Finance/Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a pharmacy retail or hospital setting.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Prior knowledge and training in the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
