Holly Vet Clinic is hiring an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Kenmore, Washington, near Seattle. We are an independently owned small animal veterinary practice seeking a Washington-licensed veterinary technician with strong skills in veterinary dentistry, anesthesia and surgical assisting.
This is a full-time veterinary technician position for an experienced LVT who enjoys using advanced technical skills and taking an active role in patient care. Our technicians participate in dental procedures, anesthesia, surgery, diagnostic sampling, in-house laboratory testing, patient monitoring and recovery.
Veterinary technician responsibilities include technician-led dental workflows; periodontal charting; full-mouth digital dental radiographs; scaling and polishing; assisting the veterinarian with dental procedures and extractions; preparing patients for surgical procedures; IV catheter placement; anesthetic preparation and induction; anesthesia monitoring; recovery monitoring; CRI management according to veterinarian direction and hospital protocols; phlebotomy; cystocentesis; in-house laboratory diagnostics; accurate medical documentation; equipment preparation and maintenance; and collaboration with veterinarians and veterinary support staff.
Dentistry is an important component of this position. The ideal candidate is comfortable with periodontal charting, diagnostic-quality dental radiographs, scaling, polishing, anesthesia monitoring, dental instrument preparation and assisting with extractions as directed by the veterinarian. We typically expect approximately two dental procedures per day during scheduled dental workflows.
The successful LVT should also be comfortable participating throughout the anesthetic and surgical process, including IV catheter placement, anesthetic preparation and induction, patient monitoring, CRI management, surgical preparation, assisting during procedures, recovery monitoring and anesthetic documentation.
Applicants must hold an active Washington State Licensed Veterinary Technician credential. Previous clinical experience as an LVT and established dental, anesthesia and surgical skills are required. Applicants should have professional communication skills, strong organization, accurate medical documentation, a calm clinical demeanor and the ability to work efficiently as part of a veterinary team. Applicants must be able to lift approximately 40 pounds.
Holly Vet Clinic offers modern diagnostic, dental and surgical capabilities including digital dental radiography, Midmark dental equipment, Samsung veterinary ultrasound, IDEXX in-house laboratory diagnostics, LigaSure vessel sealing technology, electrosurgery, modern anesthesia monitoring equipment and steam and plasma sterilization capabilities.
Compensation is $32 to $36 per hour depending on experience. A competitive signing bonus is available for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician with strong dental and surgical skills.
This is a full-time position with an approximately 40-hour workweek. Team members may have flexibility to finish early once scheduled procedures, patient care and discharges are complete.
