The BCBA will serve as a member of the Intensive Transition Team (ITT) for the State Hospital Stepdown Program, part of a new specialty transitional home supporting individuals with co-occurring behavioral health and intellectual developmental disabilities or autism. The program collaborates with Health and Human Services and State Psychiatric Hospitals to develop successful discharge plans for individuals hospitalized for over a year. It aims to transition individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses from inpatient settings to community-based environments. The ITT works as an interdisciplinary team to identify, assess, facilitate transitions, house, and provide ongoing services and supports to promote community integration.
As a member of the ITT, the BCBA is responsible for implementing and providing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy to participants. This role includes supervising Behavior Technicians pursuing RBT or BCBA certification, in accordance with BACB requirements. The position involves:
The BCBA must maintain Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) status to comply with state laws. Additionally, the BCBA is a member of the IDD Crisis Team and cross-trains to provide Behavior Supports.
Location: Bastrop
Compensation includes up to $2.00/hour for previous community center experience, up to $4.00/hour for tenure with BTCS, $0.75/hour for bilingual skills, and a $200 Service Delivery Incentive.

Credentials: Minimum qualifications include being a Board Certified and Texas Licensed Behavior Analyst with two years’ experience working with ASD or providing ABA therapy. BACB supervision requirements must be met. A valid Texas Driver's License is required. Preferred qualifications include bilingual skills in Spanish or ASL.
