3 Year Limited Term Wildlife Maintenance Propagator

Position Overview

Are you seeking specialized technical, skilled trades, and equipment maintenance work at a game farm? Join the Game Commission as a 3 Year Limited Term Wildlife Maintenance Propagator at Loyalsock Game Farm. Your work will include various aspects of game farm operations, supporting our mission to protect wildlife and habitats while promoting hunting and trapping for future generations.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will perform farming and skilled trades duties to meet a quota of approximately 140,000 pheasants, serve as a lead worker for seasonal Game Farm Workers, and maintain records. Responsibilities include maintaining facilities and equipment, performing carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, farming, and mechanical work, and caring for pheasants by maintaining brooder houses, providing food, water, medication, and handling birds for distribution.

Work Schedule & Additional Info

• Full-time, limited term, 40 hours/week
• Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
• No telework option
• Salary: Starting salary may be non-negotiable in some cases

Minimum Qualifications

• Six months propagation experience at a breeding facility producing at least 1000 game birds, including skilled maintenance and trades work

Requirements

• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license (not under suspension)
• Meet PA residency requirements
• Able to perform essential job functions
