Job summary

The STREAM School in New York seeks an innovative 3-K for ALL Lead Teacher. The ideal candidate has early childhood experience, a constructivist approach, NYS ECE certification, and a degree in Early Childhood Education.

You will lead a collaborative classroom and build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. We offer a supportive environment with professional development through the NYC Department of Education and the school.

Qualifications

• NYS ECE Certification required; Emergency Covid-19 Certification accepted if obtained before Sept 1, 2021.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum 1 year of classroom experience.
• Must have a constructivist approach to education.
• Ability to collaborate with partner teachers across disciplines to create meaningful, engaging learning experiences.

Job description

The STREAM School, a well-established progressive Early Childhood and Elementary School, seeks an innovative, creative, and knowledgeable 3-K for ALL (3-year-olds) Lead Teacher. The ideal candidates will have experience teaching in early childhood settings, knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach or a commitment to learning. S/he will be a positive school community member and will enjoy working collaboratively with a team and building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. We offer a supportive work environment with excellent opportunities for professional development throughout the year provided by both the school and NYC Department of Education. Salary is based on NYCDOE Salary Schedule ranging from $55,000 - $68,650 per contract year.

Requirements

• NYS ECE Certification (Emergency Covid-19 Certification will be accepted, but the teacher must already have the certificate before Sept. 1, 2021. Pending COVID certificates will not be accepted. NYCDOE expects the teacher to complete his/her certification within 2 years of hire date.)
• B.A. or M.A. Degree in Early Childhood Education
