Job summary

Bethlehem Central School District in Glenmont, NY is seeking a probationary 10-month Food Service Helper at Glenmont Elementary School. Schedule is 3.75 hours per day, 10:30 am to 2:15 pm when school is in session.

You will assist in kitchen operations, serve meals, help with inventory, and support salad and dessert preparation while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

This position may include cashier duties and requires adherence to USDA meal program regulations.

Qualifications

• Able to stand for the full shift and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Working knowledge of proper methods of serving food.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall kitchen operations and assist with ordering some food.
• Meet USDA meal program regulations.
• Handling receiving and inventory tasks.
• Operate tray lines serving portions per menus.
• Fill food carts and deliver foods to designated areas.
• Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.
• Wash dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine.
• Sweep, mop and clean kitchen.
• May act as cashier.
