Job summary

Greif is hiring for a 2nd shift Winder Operator to operate complex production machinery, ensure parts meet specifications, and maintain production logs. The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2–4 years of relevant experience.

• Report any errors leading to rejected pieces.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and perform adjustments as needed.
• Keep a clean, safe, and orderly work area; follow safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Operates more complex production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
• Performs different activities that produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced.
• Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs some non-routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Thorough understanding of production equipment.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $20.34 - $34.66annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between27.95 to27.95. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
