Job summary

Greif, Inc. is seeking a 1st Shift Winder Operator to run and monitor complex machinery according to blueprints and specifications. You will measure parts, maintain logs, and ensure products meet quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2–4 years’ experience, with strong teamwork and the ability to read production specifications. The role is on site in Kernersville, NC, with a competitive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

• Operates more complex production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
• Performs different activities that produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced.
• Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs some non-routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2-4 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Thorough understanding of production equipment.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $20.34 - $34.66annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between27.95 to27.95. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
