Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures, a subsidiary of Arcosa, Inc., is hiring 2nd shift welders for its Hager City, WI plant. You will weld according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders to join, surface, fabricate and repair metal parts for utility structure products.

You’ll lay out, position and fit parts for welding steel structures and other metals, while maintaining safety practices and documenting records. Starting pay is $25.89 per hour with Mon-Fri 2:45 pm – 12:45 am schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of applicable welding experience or successful completion of weld training and education.
• Flux or Metal Core welding experience highly preferred.
• Ability to accurately measure within specified tolerances highly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders highly preferred.
• Previous experience manufacturing transmission poles or related products is highly desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs.
• Perform full penetration (such as slip joint) welds to weld ends to poles or channels.
• Operate grinding equipment.
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies.
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools in accordance with layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain and complete all required records.
• Qualify as a flat welder.
• Maintain 90% pass rate on UT inspection.
• Observe all standard safety practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
