Summary of Position

Safely and efficiently operate various types of welding equipment to produce parts at rate and accurately according to print. Learn and perform setup tasks for resistance welders to KMC standards under the guidance of Setup Technicians. Train and guide new Weld Equipment Setup Operators and Weld Equipment Operators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment welders, including resistance welders and robotic welders, safely and effectively to meet standard rates.
  • Perform setup processes for resistance welders, Pemserters, and assembly equipment to ensure safe operation and adherence to KMC standards.
  • Follow quality procedures to ensure weld quality through visual inspection techniques.
  • Record labor, inventory, tooling, and production data accurately in the ERP system.
  • Perform basic material handling duties using carts and pallet jacks.
  • Maintain equipment through weekly preventative maintenance and submit work orders as needed.
  • Provide direction during runs and train new Weld Equipment Setup Operators.
  • Perform all duties of a Weld Equipment Operator.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED and two years of relevant welding equipment operation experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations in all units of measure.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, specifications, and communication effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer use and data entry.
  • Ability to interpret part prints.
Physical Requirements

Regularly use hands for handling; occasionally sit and talk; frequently hear, walk, stand, and reach. Occasionally lift/move up to 35 pounds, push/pull material. Visual acuity for close work and focus adjustment. Exposure to manufacturing noise.
