Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East in Lafayette, IN seeks a Lab Technician for the 2nd shift (5PM–2AM, Mon-Fri, possible Saturday) at $20.00/hour. Tasks include daily operational checks, monitoring conductivity and pH, and recording test results.

You will handle chemicals safely, perform jar testing, maintain 5S standards, and work with lab equipment such as pH meters and conductivity meters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; detail-oriented.

• Able to work effectively in a team and without supervision.

• Mechanical inclination.
• Flexible schedule including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational checks: pit solids, conductivity, and pH readings.
• ASH checks conductivity and pH.
• Complete jar testing and adjust systems for quality.
• Record drawdowns on all chemical pumps each shift.
• Monitor chemical tank levels and add chemicals as needed.
• Clean baffles on Palin every two hours.
• Troubleshoot and adjust systems to improve product quality.
• Ensure proper pump operations.
• Work with acids, bases, degreasers, pigments, resins, biocides and other chemicals.
• Operate lab equipment such as pH and conductivity meters.
• Maintain 5S standards in the work area.

Job description

Pay: $20.00/hour

Schedule:2nd Shift - 5PM-2AM, Monday-Friday(Possible Saturday)

Job Duties

• Perform daily operational checks. Pit solids, Conductivity, and PH readings.
• ASH checks conductivity and PH
• Completes jar testing on systems when poor product quality is evident and make needed adjustments.
• Complete drawdowns on all chemical pumps on every system 1 per shift and record
• Monitors the level and adds chemicals of each system chemical tank as needed.
• Clean baffles on each Palin every two hours
  
• Troubleshoots the system and make changes as needed to improve product quality. Once an hour
• Proper pump operations and maintain proper pump operations
• Works with chemicals such as acids, bases, degreasers, paint pigment, resin, biocides, and other chemicals as needed.
• Works safely in a lab and use testing equipment such pH meter, conductivity meter, and additional lab equipment
• Cleans and maintains area in accordance with 5S standards

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and must be detail-oriented.
• Good customer service skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to excel without direct supervision.
• Proven ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Ability to have a flexible schedule, including working weekends
