Job summary

Sims Metal is seeking a 2nd shift Warehouse Associate to aid in daily operations of the warehouse and scrap metal processing. You will sort, process, and handle various types of scrap metal with attention to safety in outdoor/industrial environments.

The role requires forklift certification, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and adherence to PPE and safety procedures. Previous recycling/industrial experience is preferred and weekend/extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Forklift certification required.
• Must be able to wear PPE (glasses, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hard hat).
• Experience in recycling/industrial environment preferred.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and performing physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform general housekeeping and safety checks in the warehouse.
• Load and unload materials manually or with a forklift.
• Sort and separate metals by type and grade.
• Prepare scrap materials for shipment and maintain site cleanliness.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE.
