Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsibility for leading the operation of one or more plant value streams. Implements, under the direction of the Value Stream Manager, the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, and reduce operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversees day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations.

Responsibilities

  • The Value Stream Team Leader will meet with the Value Stream associates regularly, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Leads the plant value stream(s) in daily operations and continuous improvements, including supply chain, production control, manufacturing priorities, and coordination between all shifts. Assists the Value Stream Manager in creating continuous product flow, utilizing pull systems, and leveling workloads.
  • Creates the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented, and safety and 5S requirements are met.
  • Maintains a positive team atmosphere, holds regular team meetings, assigns tasks, and coordinates support activities across departments. Uses Tracking Centers and Team Improvement Boards to ensure results.
  • Provides cross-training for associates and backups from other value streams to ensure smooth operations. Encourages team members to stop and fix problems to ensure quality from the start.
  • Works with the Value Stream Manager to develop and manage future state value stream maps, ensuring a visually controlled environment to prevent hidden problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Background in accounting, PC skills, manufacturing, human resource management, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and teambuilding skills, with the ability to assess and develop individual and team capabilities. Promotes safety, innovation, and positive change.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with LEAN teams or leading LEAN initiatives is preferred.
