Job summary

Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson, WI is seeking a Utilities Technician for the 2nd shift to maintain and repair the ammonia refrigeration system, boilers, wastewater, HVAC, and related facilities.

You will participate in the Process Safety Management program, and report to the Maintenance Supervisor to improve plant reliability, with hours from 2pm to 6am. Competitive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in Ammonia Refrigeration
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals and P&ID’s
• RETA certification preferred; CARO must be completed within 3 years if not certified
• Experience working with vendors and contractors

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, service and repair equipment for steam, refrigeration, water, compressed air and HVAC systems
• Make rounds and keep logs of daily operations and events for multiple engine rooms and refrigeration equipment
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels / recirculatory, purges, evaporators / MAU’s, heat exchangers, and control valves / isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacture’s guidelines
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of steam boilers, wastewater treatment facility, hot water heaters, HVAC systems and air compressors
• Participates in the PSM Program
• Promotes Safe working habits
• Log time and material usage into CMMS for PMs and corrective maintenance
• Responsible for housekeeping of engine rooms, vessel areas, shops, and all other work areas
• All other duties as assigned
