Job summary

Liberty Diversified International (LDI) is hiring a Tool & Die Technician for our Brooklyn Park, MN facility. The role supports die organization, assists with setup according to customer specs, and helps maximize machine efficiency by aiding operators and tooling teams.

You will use forklifts and pallet jacks, read and follow detailed work instructions, and communicate issues to supervisors. This full-time position requires overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 1+ year manufacturing experience.
• Experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read, follow, and complete detailed work instructions.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Support machine operation by assisting with setup of orders per customer specifications and preparing tools.
• Operate equipment such as saws and knives to perform minor die repairs and manage die inventory.
• Communicate equipment issues to leaders and assist with troubleshooting to maximize efficiency.
• Assist in managing tooling inventory and organization; move inventory using forklift and pallet jacks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area following post-order cleaning process.
• Follow plant safety processes and procedures for the machine center.
• Other duties as assigned.

In the Tool & Die Technician role with Liberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely producing quality corrugated products for our customers. You will work independently and with others ; in this role, you will support machine operators to maximize machine efficiency by assisting with die organization and communicating issues.

This full-time position reports directly to a Production Supervisor and is located at our Brooklyn Park, MN manufacturing facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support machine operation by assisting with the setup of orders according to customer specifications, following order readiness process of efficiently preparing the right tools to complete the job.


• Assist machine crews by operating equipment such as saws and knives to preform minor die repairs in house, assist in managing die inventory sent out for repair, identify issues, and communicate accordingly.


• Proactively communicate issues with equipment to appropriate leaders, and assist with trouble shooting, and problem solving to maximize overall equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.


• Assist in managing tooling inventory and organization, along with purging inventory when needed. Utilize mobile equipment such as Forklift and Pallet Jacks to move inventory.


• Maintain a clean and organized work areaby following post order cleaning process.


• Follow plant safety processes and procedures outlined for the machine center.


• Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION , EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution or 1+ years manufacturing or comparable experience in place of education.


• Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.


• Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.


• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Experience reading a tape measureto within 1/16\" measurement.


• Experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.


• Experience within the corrugated industry.


• Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs - Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen Events.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay rate for this position is $22.77 per hour (if applicable) plus hourly shift differential pay. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
