Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. on the 2nd shift is seeking a Test Engineer to support Manufacturing and Product Marketing, develop test methods, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment used in semiconductor capital machinery.

You will train technicians, review customer specs, and drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, with occasional domestic/international travel up to 15%. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s with 3 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; 5 years of electro-mechanical systems troubleshooting experience.
• Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience considered.
• Proficient in reading schematics, drawings, BOMs and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and tool configuration, and flag gaps to teams.
• Lead in-house customer source inspections and document actions.
• Develop test definitions and functional requirements for new products.
• Perform marathon cycle testing and troubleshoot equipment; weekend support as needed.
• Provide feedback to design engineering from failure mode analyses.
• Support manufacturing and transition new products to operations.
