Job summary

Express Employment Professionals – St. Paul, MN is assisting a small manufacturing company to fill a 2nd shift Supervisor position. The role leads the 2nd shift manufacturing team to meet production goals and quality standards.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM, with a pay rate of $25–28 per hour depending on experience. This position requires strong leadership, lean manufacturing experience, and the ability to train and develop staff.

Qualifications

• 5 year minimum experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment in a Quality or Manufacturing role.
• 2 years minimum experience in supervision.
• Experience in a JIT/custom build environment.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2nd shift manufacturing team to meet production objectives.
• Coordinate daily production staff, priorities, training, and development.
• Direct manufacturing staff to ensure orders ship complete and on time without overtime or expedited costs.
• Communicate daily production status against targets and address variances.
• Support new production processes and Lean productivity improvements to reduce costs as a percent of sales.
• Identify potential process/equipment/timing issues impacting schedule and product quality.
• Participate in Manufacturing Quality Team and implement corrective actions.
• Perform other duties to support production objectives and corporate policies.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Manufacturing 2nd shift Supervisor

Express Employment Professionals – St. Paul, MN is assisting a small manufacturing company to fill a 2nd shift Superviro position on their team. Position is located in the South metro.

Pay: $25 – 28/hour DOE

Schedule: 2nd Shift Monday – Friday 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the 2nd shift manufacturing team to accomplish assigned objectives in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Includes, but is not limited to, coordinating daily production staff and activities, identify and assign priorities, training, development, human resource recruitment, team motivation and supervision, all in a manner consistent with company policies.
• Direct manufacturing staff to ensure orders are shipped complete and on-time without incurring additional costs (i.e. overtime, expedited deliveries, or accelerated shipping).
• Communicate daily production status against targets including first time yield, finished goods levels, safety issues, labor and material shortages and action plans to correct/improve items below goal.
• Support new production processes and productivity improvements with the objective of maintaining/reducing manufacturing cost as a percent of sales.
• Help identify any potential process, equipment, material or timing opportunities / issues that could impact the manufacturing process, the quality of our product, or the ability to meet established guaranteed ship dates.
• Continuously and relentlessly strive to improve the quality of Miratec Systems' products and services by use of a Lean continuous improvement model, assure conformance to specification and minimize process and product variability.
• With the support of Operations leadership, participate as a member of the Manufacturing Quality Team, and actively participate in the identification of quality issues, recommendation of corrective actions, and implementation of new or revised control methods and procedures.
• Perform other functions as needed to facilitate production objectives, quality initiatives, customer priority shipments, corporate policies and regulatory conformance.
• Fully support other corporate objectives and/or projects that may arise or be assigned in a manner consistent with this position as a key member of the company’s manufacturing support team.
• Ability to lift 50 LBS. and stand for prolonged periods.

• Demonstrated ability to offer creative solutions to technical problems and procedural issues.
• Enjoys working in a team environment and is able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines/deliverables.
• Ability to lift 50 LBS. and stand for prolonged periods.
