Job summary

Carbery Group’s Synergy Flavors operation in Chicago is hiring a Compounder for our production facility. You will follow batch instructions, measure ingredients, operate spray drying and blending equipment, and ensure product quality and food safety compliance.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, taking samples for lab tests, completing batch sheets, and maintaining sanitary standards. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and willingness to work a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2pm-10:30pm)

Qualifications

• Must have a general knowledge of workplace safety, GMPs, allergens, and quality processes.
• Acute attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce error-free work.
• Strong math skills and ability to read scales for unit measurements.
• Basic computer skills and RF scanner experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow batching instructions to accurately measure, weigh, and transfer ingredients.
• Operate spray dry equipment, liquid reactors, piping, and related parts.
• Monitor equipment, temperatures, consistency, and quality throughout production.
• Sample and test finished mixes for required attributes.
• Complete batch sheets, documentation, and paperwork accurately.
• Maintain sanitary standards through cleaning (CIP) and proper material handling.
• Perform tasks safely with required PPE and in line with company policies.
• Support fast-paced production by multitasking and collaborating with the team.
• Lift heavy drums and bags as needed while wearing PPE.
