Job Description

Position Purpose:

Drives trucks or tractors at vehicle parking or loading docking areas to move, position, or park trailers.

Essential Duties:

• Drives trucks around dock areas for transportation purposes.
• Spots (positions) loaded or unloaded trailers at assigned docks using a tractor.
• Connects loaded trailers to tractors for delivery drivers.
• Fuels tractors.
• Assists workers in loading and unloading trucks and trailers.
• Maintains trucks in proper working condition.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to sit for 8 hours.
• Ability to lift and carry 70 lbs.
• Must have a valid and clear driving record.
• Must pass a DOT Physical.

Education / Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently and perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• Effective communication skills, including presenting information and understanding detailed instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and handle problems involving multiple variables.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, talk, and hear.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to focus.
• Must wear PPE including eye and hearing protection as required.

Work Environment:

• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, noise, and temperature variations.
