2nd Shift Skilled Machinist
Location: Lake Zurich, IL
Pay Range: $27.00/hr – $40.00/hr
Schedule: 4:00 pm – 2:30 am, Monday–Thursday
Pay Schedule: Weekly

Responsibilities
- Perform advanced setup operations for aerospace and new product cycles; adjust and check out programming on numerically controlled machine tools.
- Operate CNC machine tools to perform complex progressive machining operations, achieving exact tolerances and finish specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues before involving engineering and ensure all adjustments remain within approved standards.
- Set up and run all machines on the production floor and train others on setup and operation.
- Measure close tolerances and train others on proper measuring techniques; serve as Certified First‑Piece Inspector.
- Execute additional functions of CNC Operator and Advanced CNC Operator, including stacking/unloading product, material handling, and accurate data entry into ERP and MBP MMS systems.
- Communicate effectively with co‑workers and management.
- Maintain accurate production quantity records in the ERP system and job data input per MBP MMS requirements.
- Participate in team activities and serve as a dependable “go‑to” person for work completion.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience programming and setting up Okuma Multus – 3 CNC machines, handling low‑volume and high‑mix production.
- Proficient in lathe operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid foundation in mathematics and advanced blueprint reading.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T and proper measuring techniques using a variety of gauges.
- Understanding of ferrous and/or non‑ferrous materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as an essential function; ability to handle ITAR technical data.
