Blair Image Elements in Altoona, PA is seeking reliable individuals to join our Painting team. You will paint prepared signs and components with the correct finishes, read prints, mix colors, and apply coatings to spec while maintaining quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints/prints, or learn to read them.
• Ability to follow instructions quickly while maintaining quality.
• Basic math skills; able to read a measuring tape.
• Excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Comfort around paints and solvents; respirator training provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• High dependability; reliable schedule including overtime as needed.
• Team-oriented, responsible and productive.
• Prior painting or spray equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Paint prepared signs and sign components using hand application spray equipment.
• Read and work from prints; apply materials per specification.
• Mix and match paint colors; load spray equipment for daily tasks.
• Mask signs for multi-color applications; manage color changes.
• Prime steel and other substrates to prevent rust and ensure durability.
• Work with epoxies, enamels, and urethanes.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on spray guns and booths.
• Log jobs and production hours using the computer/kiosk; check scheduler.
• Check quality against print specifications before and after painting.
