Job summary

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring a 2nd shift Shop Pipefitter in Charlotte, NC for contract work. The role supports new construction and capital projects in a mechanical pipe fabrication shop environment.

The position follows a Sunday through Thursday schedule, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. Responsibilities include setting pump skids, aligning skid-mounted pumps, copper soldering and brazing, and installing piping trim per drawings and manufacturer specs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on shop pipefitting experience.

Responsibilities

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring 2nd shift Shop Pipefitter in Charlotte, NC. Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring a 2nd Shift Shop Pipefitter for contract work in Charlotte, NC, supporting new construction and capital projects through a mechanical pipe fabrication shop environment. This position follows a Sunday through Thursday schedule from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated hands‑on experience setting pump skids, aligning skid‑mounted pumps, performing copper soldering and brazing, and installing piping trim components in accordance with equipment drawings and manufacturer specifications.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Licenses/Certifications Required:

• OSHA 10

Responsibilities:

• Set pump skids in accordance with equipment drawings and manufacturer specifications.
• Align skid‑mounted pumps to various piping connections to ensure proper fit and function.
• Install trim components on equipment and piping systems, including gauges, thermometers, air vents, drain valves, balancing valves, and unions.
• Mount equipment supports, brackets, and vibration isolation pads per project requirements.
• Perform copper soldering and brazing tasks as required by project specifications.
• Read and interpret equipment drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications to guide installation work.
• Operate standard construction and pipefitting tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment in compliance with all applicable safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated hands‑on experience as a shop pipefitter or in a comparable mechanical construction trade role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting equipment drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer specifications.
• Proven experience with copper soldering and brazing techniques.
• Experience setting pump skids and aligning skid‑mounted pumps to piping connections.
• Ability to install piping trim components including balancing valves, drain valves, gauges, thermometers, and air vents.
• Experience mounting equipment supports, brackets, and vibration isolation pads.
• Ability to operate standard construction and pipefitting tools and equipment effectively.
• Availability to work 2nd shift: Sunday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to kneel, crouch, and work in awkward or confined positions as required by shop tasks.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions including tightening, cutting, soldering, and fitting pipes.
• Must be able to handle small parts, fittings, gauges, and trim components with precision.
• Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to heat, fumes, and noise associated with soldering and brazing operations.
• Must be aware of and comply with OSHA safety standards.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $30 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
