Job summary

Monarch Steel Company, Inc. is a division of American Consolidated Industries and a major provider of hot rolled, cold rolled and galvanized steel.

An Operator I role is available with a 3:00 pm–1:00 am shift, offering a safety-focused environment, and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision and more. Responsibilities include maintaining production lines, ensuring material tracking, and performing basic quality checks, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Industry knowledge and experience, a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions in English.

Responsibilities

  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Verification and recording of product identification.
  • Reconcile coil identity for production and load coil.
  • Ensuring material is loaded onto lines and fed into production equipment in accordance with all safety policies and quality procedures.
  • Responsible for making necessary adjustments to ensure material tracking/stacking.
  • Performing in process visual inspection.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Under general supervision, the Operator I position performs a variety of skilled tasks involved involving the general maintenance and operations processes; basic understanding of equipment and performs related work as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
  • Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
  • Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
  • Able to write simple correspondence in English

Hours

Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm - 1:00 am with possibility of overtime on Fridays
