Job summary

Allied Universal in Independence, KY is seeking a Security Guard on a full-time 2nd shift to protect our clients across logistics and distribution sites. You will maintain a visible security presence, assist employees and visitors, and uphold Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, teamwork and integrity.

The position requires being 18+, HS diploma, background check and drug screening. A valid driver’s license is needed for driving posts.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the distribution facility, parking areas, trailer yards, access points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors and delivery personnel, and maintaining accurate entry and incident documentation.
• Observe loading/shipping, and receiving areas for unusual activity, report concerns to appropriate personnel, and deter unauthorized access.
