Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM - 11:15 PM), training on 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:15 PM) for at least one month

A local small Zeeland company, a screw machine manufacturer that produces parts for the automotive industry. They maintain high standards to produce consistent and reliable parts for their customers.

Responsibilities
  • Operate multiple spindle screw machines with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock.
  • Learn to run multiple spindle screw machines, perform basic tool changes, and check parts for specifications.
  • Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
  • Position, secure, and load bar stock into feeding mechanisms.
  • Install, adjust cams, gears, stops, and tools as per specifications.
  • Set cutting speeds and feed rates.
  • Cycle the machine, monitor operation, and inspect initial and sample parts for conformance.
  • Replace worn tools and operate bench grinder for sharpening.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, or 1-3 months of related experience or training.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read and speak fluent English.
  • Physical ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Good vision including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Basic machine knowledge, ability to work independently, cross-train, and self-motivate.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
