Job summary

Fairview School District is seeking a Full-Time Custodian for the 2nd shift at the Central Admin Building in Fairview, PA. This floating position requires the ability to work from ladders and elevated platforms, perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, and support school operations in coordination with the Director of Facilities and Grounds.

Responsibilities include routine cleaning, minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry, snow removal, and adherence to safety and energy

Qualifications

• The ability to lift heavy objects and carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.

• Carries out activities assigned by the Head Custodian and/or the Director of Facilities and
• Develops and implements routines and checklists to keep facilities and equipment in optimum condition at minimum cost.
• Performs repairs in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry as prescribed by assignments.
• Follows a detailed daily and weekly schedule for cleaning, servicing, and maintaining all areas within a school building and grounds.
• Participates in snow/ice removal using plow trucks, snow blowers, bobcat, high lift, salt spreader, and other equipment.
• Reports housekeeping and maintenance problems to the Head Custodian.
• Operates cleaning equipment, mops floors, cleans restrooms, washes windows, and paints as required.
• Performs duties in support of special events and coordinates with staff and students for orderly operations.
• Maintains building security during scheduled uses and presents a professional image of the district.
• Participates in energy conservation programs and proper handling of chemicals and supplies.
