Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a Saw Operator for the 2nd shift to safely set up and operate metal cutting saws according to work orders. The role may require independent work or teamwork while following all safety procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with metal cutting saws, and the ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools. Dependability and adherence to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating metal cutting saws or similar equipment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring tools.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks associated with medium work.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead and/or wall walker crane using remote or pendant controls.
• Secure appropriate rigging devices for lifting materials.
• Transport material using crane or material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Perform safety inspections and complete applicable checklists.
• Set up and operate saws to cut materials per specifications; observe multiple saws as needed.
• Use hand tools to measure and verify material dimensions and quality.
• Utilize computer systems for documentation, labeling, scanning, and printing.
• Use grinders and sanders to remove burrs and rough edges.
• Label and package products for shipping using appropriate materials and banding equipment.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as changing saw blades, propane tanks, and sideloader batteries.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment including sweeping shavings and clearing debris.
• Participate in safety, quality, and job training sessions.
