Job summary

Mt. Olive Pickle Co., Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Sanitation Forklift Operator to maintain cleanliness of all food production areas and to safely operate a forklift for waste and material handling.

The role requires adherence to food safety standards and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The candidate will perform sanitation duties across Main Plant and/or DC Plant, ensure proper inventory of cleaning supplies, and report issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent(preferred); forklift, food safety or sanitation experience is a plus.
• Certified forklift operator.
• Previous experience on a forklift in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation role preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize food production areas, including floors, walls, equipment, and machinery, in accordance with food safety regulations and company policies.
• Operates forklift always at a reasonable and prudent speed, watching closely for pedestrians or other motorized vehicles.
• Completes Pre-Operational Checklist each day before operating lift. Reports all forklift damage or malfunction to supervisor.
• Safely operates forklift to transport trash bins and recycling containers from all areas of the premises to the dumpsters and recycling area and returns bins to the same designated area.
• Dumps trash, glass and pepper stems into proper dumpsters.
• Using forklift, loads bulk unbailed cardboard..
• Uses bailing machines to bail up cardboard and plastic for recycling.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that stock is reordered as needed.
• Report any maintenance or sanitation-related issues to the supervisor or management.
• Adhere to all company and regulatory standards, including USDA, FDA, and HACCP guidelines, ensuring all sanitation procedures are consistently followed.
• Performs Sanitation Laborer duties as needed.
• Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
