Resistance Welder

Highlights:

• Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Position Type: Contract to hire (2nd Shift 3:15 pm - 1:45 am, Mon – Thursday)
• Hourly / Salary: Based on experience, $20-$26/hour
• Status: US Citizen

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for welding all products per MOT and/or B/P.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Verify raw material.
2. Visually inspect detail parts for damage prior to welding.
3. Visually inspect all finished welds for compliance with MOT and/or B/P specifications.
4. Test weld samples for shear strength requirements, nugget size, and penetration.
5. Follow welding schedules in setting the controls on the welding machines.
6. Maintain control of welding schedules.
7. Identify and tag rejectable items prior to submission to inspection.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to communicate in English.
2. Technical knowledge of welding skills and measuring equipment as required to complete each operation.
3. Ability to perform machine qualifications and testing.
4. Ability to understand weld symbols.
5. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
6. Vision: Near 20/20, far 20/30. Able to pass vision tests such as pseudoachromatic plates, Dvorine, Ishihara, Richmond, Farnsworth lantern, Keystone Orthoscope, Titmus vision tester, and others.
