DHT Group, based out of Reese, Michigan, has been ensuring safety and satisfaction for over 40 years. We operate multiple divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply, along with full-service repair facilities. We are hiring at all facilities, including additional locations in Newport and Port Huron, Michigan, and Bellefontaine, Ohio.

We are actively seeking candidates for 2nd shift diesel mechanic positions at our main facility in Reese.

Position Details:

• Full-time with benefits
• 24-hour repair facility
• 2nd shift (3pm-11pm)

The Diesel Mechanic will work on a variety of heavy trucks and trailers, troubleshooting and repairing electronic, fuel, ignition, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. While working mostly independently, mechanics are expected to collaborate effectively within a team for major projects.

In This Diesel Mechanic Role, You Will:

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Test and adjust as needed.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
• Identify mechanical problems visually and with diagnostic equipment.
• Perform diagnostics on components and systems to ensure proper operation.

Requirements:

• 6 months to 1 year diesel mechanic experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Knowledge of diagnosing diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials
• Strong communication skills and team orientation

Physical Requirements:

• Lift a minimum of 35 pounds
• Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections
• Good vision to inspect work
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery
• Pass a drug and alcohol screening
