Job summary

FRAZER AND JONES in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician for the 2nd shift in a foundry environment. You will perform chemical and microstructure analyses, adhere to 5S safety, and maintain traceable records of test results.

Requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years in manufacturing or quality work. Compensation ranges from $19 to $23 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours, plus benefits including 401(k) and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in manufacturing, quality or laboratory work is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety procedures and 5S standards.
• Read process documents and ensure chemistry is accurate.
• Perform chemical analysis using a spectrometer.
• Perform microstructure analysis using a microscope.
• Prepare test samples by sanding and polishing.
• Operate scales to determine sample weight.
• Examine parts for hardness (Brinell) and perform gauging inspections.
• Machine and examine test bars using a lathe and a Tinius Olsen tester.
• Perform application tests to ensure parts meet specifications.
