Job summary

Surlean Foods is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to help ensure the safety and quality of all incoming materials and finished products at the Dallas plant. You will report to the QA Supervisor and follow SOPs, customer specs, and company policies.

Responsibilities include GMP enforcement, HACCP monitoring at critical control points, and collaboration with USDA and production staff. You will train plant personnel on food safety and quality procedures and document daily records for each

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in extreme temperatures.
• Team player able to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices Policy.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and facilities.
• Perform ATP swabbing and environmental swabbing.
• Monitor SSOPs and document procedures.
• Monitor quality of packaging, raw materials and finished products.
• Monitor metal detection and rejection.
• Record weights of finished products and take temperatures.
• Monitor physical, chemical and sensory attributes of materials and products.
• Complete records daily for each product line.
• Perform HACCP monitoring and verification for critical control points.
• Collaborate with USDA and production staff.
• Report deviations from specs and place products on hold.
• Assist in investigations of foreign material sources.
• Ensure testing equipment is cleaned and calibrated.
• Assist QA Manager and department as needed.
