Job summary

Miniat in Chicago, IL seeks a Pumphouse Operator for the 2nd shift. You will load and unload raw and finished materials from tanker trucks and railcars, control product flow, and prepare shipments while maintaining a safety-minded culture.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to speak/read/write English, basic math, and the capacity to work overtime, weekends, and variable shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to speak, read and write English.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to measure accurately with tape and rulers.
• Basic working knowledge of computers.
• Able to work variable shifts, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Control product flow by tracing lines, opening/closing valves, and operating pumps.
• Load and unload materials from tanker trucks and railroad cars.
• Maintain traffic operations by following shipment schedules and communicating with teams.
• Prepare shipments with correct product, weights, and paperwork.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for cleanliness and load acceptability.
• Document shipping/receiving logs with product, weight and time.
• Provide railcar movement directions and assist rail operations as needed.
