Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Production Technician in Huntington Beach for a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-1:00am) with overtime on weekends. You will work across composite structures, tape wrapping, cutting, and compression molding, ensuring conformance to specifications and ISO standards.

The role requires 2-3 years of experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort with repetitive motions. Training and growth opportunities are available in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders/travelers when scheduled to be finalized.
• Use ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.
• Understand production processes including tape wrapping, cutting, and compression molding.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects using precision instruments.
• Mix and measure resin and adhesive.
• Adjust ovens' temperature controls.
• Review blueprints or instructions for methods.
• Maintain production equipment.
• Stand/walk for majority of time; frequent hand use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete work orders/travelers when they are scheduled to be finalized.
• Utilizing ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.
• Understand the production process in the various areas which include tape wrapping, cutting, and compression molding and hand layup of composites.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Mix and measure resin and adhesive.
• Adjust temperature controls of ovens.
• Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
• Maintain production or processing equipment.
• Use of upper body mobility, such as bending, use of arms and hands, and standing for the majority of the time.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• 2-3 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Repetitive motion

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

No travel required for this position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant standing/walking/sitting for at least 8 hours.
• Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, stooping or carrying up to 50 lbs. Min 35lbs.
• Prolonged periods of repetitive movement are required.
• Holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s).
• Occasional extending of arms to reach overhead, at shoulder level and below shoulder level.
• Occasional forklift driving required.
