Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor provides leadership, supervision and coordination to a diverse team of hourly manufacturing and warehouse operators with varying levels of experience. The operators are primarily engaged in raw material handling activities, operating batching software and tending to automated filling and packaging equipment as well as the manual packaging and palletizing of product.
Primary Job Functions:
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of production operators, operate production equipment as and when required
- Effectively monitor the volume and quality of output; adjusting tasks, timing, and equipment set-up to meet production specifications through the efficient utilization of available resources.

- Responsible for line and equipment set-up for next run products.
- Work closely with shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality control, and safety to help ensure that established Quality and Safety Management System requirements are met.
- Writes and performs regular audits of standard operating procedures (SOP) for each area reviewing for effectiveness by gathering team input and practice.
- Performs and directs perpetual cycle counts of raw materials and finished goods.
- Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials (loading/unloading trucks) to keep warehouse inventory current.
- Monitors and makes recommendations on inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to satisfy customer demand
- Maintain a safe, healthy and organized work environment for all areas in compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements.
- Actively participates in the risk identification and mitigation process
- Drives team members’ accountability of job standards to achieve an optimal output or workflow through the effective use of coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Facilitate cross training of production operators to develop a flexible autonomous production team while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Assists in the development of individuals and teams to solve operational issues.
- Motivates team members to achieve performance targets
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring process for new production and warehouse personnel.
- Train new team members in the organization's operating and safety procedures monitoring standards to ensure compliance
Physical Requirements:- The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, feel, talk and hear.

- Required to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, working near moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat as well as wet and/or humid conditions.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as: safety goggles, gloves, respirators, etc. is required when required.
