Job summary

Lapham-Hickey Steel Corp in Columbus, OH is seeking a full-time Production Shift Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead daily manufacturing operations.

You will supervise burning/plasma, grinding, and saw operations, coordinate workflow, ensure on-time delivery, and enforce safety and quality standards. You’ll mentor staff and partner with maintenance to resolve issues, aiming for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously.
• Experience with workflow coordination across multiple departments or production areas.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations across burning/plasma, grinding, saw operations, and related plant machinery.
• Assign and prioritize work to meet production schedules and on-time delivery.
• Review orders and blueprints to ensure proper setup and execution across areas.
• Monitor output, machine utilization, and bottlenecks; resolve issues promptly.
• Enforce safety policies and PPE requirements on the shop floor.
• Mentor production staff on equipment operation, safety, and quality.
