Job summary

Röchling Automotive in Akron, OH is seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift. You will lead hourly production teams, drive safety, quality, and productivity across a fast-paced operation in the automotive plastics sector.

Ideal candidates have extensive manufacturing leadership, automotive experience, and familiarity with plastic injection molding. The role emphasizes 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement, with overtime/weekend support as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing, production, or operations.
• 2+ years in leadership or supervision in manufacturing.
• 2+ years in automotive manufacturing.
• Experience leading hourly employees in fast-paced, high-volume production.
• Strong understanding of production processes, safety, quality, and KPIs.
• Plastic injection molding experience strongly preferred.
• Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, KVP/Kaizen, continuous improvement, and layered audits.
• Experience with production reporting systems and metrics.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in fast-paced environment.
• Technical manufacturing education or apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Ability to work 2nd shift and provide overtime/weekend support.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and supervision to production employees on the shift.
• Ensure daily production schedule is executed safely and efficiently.
• Assign employees based on production requirements and staffing needs.
• Coordinate break coverage, overtime, and short-term workforce planning.
• Escalate employee, production, quality, and operational issues.
• Monitor KPIs: OEE, productivity, scrap, quality, safety; drive improvements.
• Ensure compliance with policies, EHS, quality standards, and procedures.
• Conduct shift handovers and maintain production records.
• Maintain training matrices and coordinate training activities.
• Coach employees and support performance appraisals and development.
• Promote 5S and maintain a safe, clean production environment.
• Support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate maintenance and quality activities to minimize downtime.
• Foster a positive team culture focused on accountability and teamwork.
