Job Summary:

ClearPath Medical is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our second-shift production team (2:00 PM- 10:30 PM) in the manufacturing of custom medical cable assemblies. This role will oversee production employees, ensure efficient operations, maintain quality standards, and uphold compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 regulations. The Production Supervisor will play a key role in supporting our growth and delivering high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of production employees (approximately 2540 assemblers and technicians on the 2nd shift), assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and fostering a safe, productive work environment.
• Production Oversight: Manage second-shift production schedules to meet output targets (95% schedule adherence) and ensure timely completion of medical cable assemblies.
• Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control standards to ensure all products meet FDA and ISO 13485 requirements, with a target of 2 non-conformance reports (NCRs) per quarter.
• Training & Compliance: Coordinate and ensure 100% team compliance with mandatory training (e.g., safety, quality, regulatory standards) and maintain accurate documentation for audits.
• Process Improvement: Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and achieve operational efficiency goals (e.g., improve productivity by 510% annually).
• Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with the Buyer Planner to ensure material availability, addressing shortages or discrepancies to prevent production delays (2 material shortage incidents per month).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, quality assurance, and the 1st shift supervisor to align production activities, support engineering change orders (ECOs), and ensure seamless shift transitions.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including production output, team productivity, and quality metrics, providing regular updates to operations management.

• Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes for medical cable assemblies or similar precision components.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., QT9) for production tracking and inventory coordination.
• Knowledge of FDA and ISO 13485 regulations to ensure compliance in a regulated environment.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data analysis is required; familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

• Effective communication is essential for coordinating with cross-functional teams and resolving issues.
• Problem-solving and adaptability to address production challenges during the evening shift.

• Education & Experience:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in operations management, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or production supervision, preferably in medical device manufacturing or a regulated industry.
• At least 1 year of experience managing a team in a production environment.
• Certifications such as Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or APICS CPIM are a plus, but not required.

• Coordinating with the 1st shift and other departments to ensure seamless operations and information flow.

• Approvals: Authority to assign tasks, adjust shift schedules, and approve minor production or inventory adjustments within established guidelines.
• Disciplinary Actions: Authority to issue verbal or written warnings and implement performance improvement plans; escalates terminations or significant disciplinary actions to HR or operations management.
• Production Decisions: Autonomy to manage second-shift operations and resolve immediate production issues, escalating significant schedule changes or resource needs to the operations manager.
• Autonomy: High autonomy in daily shift operations and team management, with escalation for strategic, budgetary, or regulatory decisions.

The annual salary range is $65,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and familiarity with medical device manufacturing.
