A fast-paced, professional, and agile scaffolding/plank business in Houston, TX is hiring for a Shop Supervisor.
Position Overview:
We seek a Working Shop Supervisor to lead a skilled and motivated team in their manufacturing plant. This hands-on leadership role requires overseeing daily operations, maintaining efficiency, ensuring workplace safety, and upholding quality standards. The ideal candidate is a reliable, goal-oriented professional with strong communication skills who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all areas of plant operations.
- Ensure proper tooling is available for all equipment.
- Order and maintain shop supplies as needed.
- Keep production equipment in safe, working condition.
- Monitor all phases of manufacturing for efficiency and quality.
- Train and support employees to enhance productivity and performance.
- Maintain accurate production reports on personnel and workflow.
- Proactively support production orders to prevent delays.
- Enforce company policies and safety protocols.
- Conduct daily Safety Toolbox Meetings to promote a secure workplace.
- Ensure compliance with product specifications and industry standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in manufacturing areas.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Mathematical Skills:
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including fractions and decimals.
Technical & Computer Skills:
- Minimum of one year of experience operating PCs for documentation and reporting.
Certifications & Licenses (but Not Required):
- Forklift Certification (Required or must obtain upon hire).
- Wood Grader Certification (training available).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 60 lbs.
- Work near moving machinery and airborne particles (sawdust exposure).
- Occasional exposure to humid conditions, outdoor weather, and vibrations.
- Adherence to all workplace safety guidelines.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
- Expected Hours: 40 per week, M-F, 3 PM - 11 PM

Work Schedule:
- 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts available
