A fast-paced, professional, and agile scaffolding/plank business in Houston, TX is hiring for a Shop Supervisor.

Position Overview:

We seek a Working Shop Supervisor to lead a skilled and motivated team in their manufacturing plant. This hands-on leadership role requires overseeing daily operations, maintaining efficiency, ensuring workplace safety, and upholding quality standards. The ideal candidate is a reliable, goal-oriented professional with strong communication skills who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all areas of plant operations.
  • Ensure proper tooling is available for all equipment.
  • Order and maintain shop supplies as needed.
  • Keep production equipment in safe, working condition.
  • Monitor all phases of manufacturing for efficiency and quality.
  • Train and support employees to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Maintain accurate production reports on personnel and workflow.
  • Proactively support production orders to prevent delays.
  • Enforce company policies and safety protocols.
  • Conduct daily Safety Toolbox Meetings to promote a secure workplace.
  • Ensure compliance with product specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in manufacturing areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including fractions and decimals.

Technical & Computer Skills:

  • Minimum of one year of experience operating PCs for documentation and reporting.

Certifications & Licenses (but Not Required):

  • Forklift Certification (Required or must obtain upon hire).
  • Wood Grader Certification (training available).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 60 lbs.
  • Work near moving machinery and airborne particles (sawdust exposure).
  • Occasional exposure to humid conditions, outdoor weather, and vibrations.
  • Adherence to all workplace safety guidelines.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
  • Expected Hours: 40 per week, M-F, 3 PM - 11 PM
