Liberty Diversified International in Brooklyn Park, MN seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team in daily operations, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and coach staff toward continuous improvement.

You report to the Plant Superintendent, organize workflow, monitor KPIs, and partner with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations. This hands-on leadership role requires problem solving and a commitment to our Caring, Innovation, Trust, and Excellence values.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years supervisory, team lead, and/or project leadership experience.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours, as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations by leading teams within a production department, including overseeing production metrics, staffing, directing teams, solving problems, and ensuring KPIs (safety, waste reduction, quality, maintenance, housekeeping).
• Lead safety programs, conduct safety huddles, and promote safe practices.
• Support safety investigations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee quality processes and preventive maintenance to ensure machine reliability and continuous improvement.
• Coach and discipline staff, conduct timely reviews, and maintain accurate timekeeping while upholding our Caring, Innovation, Trust, and Excellence culture.
• Manage labor use through scheduling and overtime decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives with cross-functional teamwork.
• Mentor and train staff, provide timely feedback, and develop high-potential employees.
• Escalate issues to facility leadership to minimize customer impact.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth operation and alignment.

Description

As aProduction Supervisor with Liberty Packaging, you will be responsible for leading and developing a production team in their performance of day-to-day operations. Duties include working with employees, providing constructive feedback and coaching, organizing workflow, and analyzing the efficiency of our manufacturing processes. This position is accountable for achieving production results in a safe manner that aligns with our customers’ expectations.

This position reports to the Plant Superintendent and is located at our Brooklyn Park, MN manufacturing facility.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations by leading teams within a production department, including: overseeing production metrics, employee’s placement, providing direction, guiding teams through problem solving and production challenges. Ensure operational KPIs are met (safety, waste reduction, quality control, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping).
• Lead department or work center teams through execution of observation-based safety programs, emphasizing the importance of safety hazard identification and proactive safety measures. Conduct regular safety huddles to communicate initiatives, coach safe practices, and recognize safety accomplishments and behaviors.
• Support site safety investigations by actively participating in resolving opportunities to maintain a safe work environment, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
• Oversees quality processes and audits to meet customer expectations, preventative maintenance to ensure machine’s reliability, and other continuous improvement processes.
• Ensure consistent adherence to established routines and performance standards by effectively coaching and disciplining employees, conducting timely reviews, and maintaining accurate timekeeping records, while reinforcing our culture of Caring, Innovation, Trust, and Excellence.
• Manages efficient and effective labor use through employee scheduling and assessing / recommending appropriate use of overtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives by identifying, managing, and assisting with projects, actively monitoring goals, and facilitating teamwork to cultivate a culture focused on continuous improvement within the organization.
• Coach, mentor, and ensure knowledge is shared across the team, ensure effective training delivery, provide timely feedback, and identify and develop high-potential staff.
• Proactively elevate issues to facility leadership within internal departments to anticipate challenges and minimize impact to our customers.
• Collaborate seamlessly across business and manufacturing floor teams, demonstrating strong communication and cross-collaboration skills to ensure smooth operation and alignment across departments.
• Support LDI culture initiatives and promote engagement / involvement in Safety and Environmental meetings, Community involvement meetings, special projects, and assignments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience And Skills

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution and 5+ years manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years’ supervisory, team lead, and / or project leadership experience
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and additional hours, as required by business needs.

Preferred Education, Experience And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (i.e. Business/Operations Management, Engineering or related field).
• Demonstrated strong communication skills.
• Basic computer skills with demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Experience in (Amtech, CTI, Etc.)
• Strong process/business acumen; Results-driven.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Conflict management skills.
• Relationship-building skills – ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.
• Strong attention to detail, measuring with accuracy, and tool or equipment knowledge

Compensation & Benefits

The starting base salary range for this position is $66,000 - $83,000per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
