Job summary

Smalley in Lake Zurich, IL is seeking production/packing specialists to join our team. You will inspect and package products per customer specs, handle nonstandard packaging, operate scales and related equipment, and maintain accurate paperwork while meeting quality standards.

You'll work in a safety-conscious environment, follow 6S practices, collaborate across departments, and contribute to on-time delivery while advancing through ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
• Proven experience in Production/Shipping/Distribution/Warehousing.
• Solid understanding of packing/shipping terminology and required paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and packages products per customer requirements and instructions.
• Completes packaging for orders with nonstandard requirements.
• Operates scales/equipment related to the process as needed.
• Documents product data and paperwork accurately in systems.
• Supports cross-department production activities as needed.
• Upholds defined quality standards to maximize customer satisfaction and efficiency.
• Aims to achieve team and individual production targets.
• Keeps workspace clean and organized following Smalley’s 6S process.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and packages products in compliance with part specifications/customer requirements, based off direct instruction provided by the customer
• Completes packaging assignments for orders with nonstandard requirements
• Operates any necessary scales/equipment related to the assigned process
• Completes required paperwork/system input for each product
• Participates in cross departmental work production based on business needs
• Learns and upholds defined quality standards to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and optimize work efficiency
• Strives to achieve team and individual specified production targets
• Provides complete, accurate documentation when required
• Communicates clearly with teammates and supervisors regarding all aspects of the job
• Keeps workspace clean and organized to maximize safety and productivity by adhering to Smalley’s 6S process
• Participates in ongoing training, educational meetings, and daily communication meetings

Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment
• Proven experience working in Production/Shipping/Distribution/Warehousing
• Have a solid understanding of packing/shipping terminology and complete required paperwork

Salary

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $19.80 - $22.00 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
