Job summary

J&J Snack Foods is seeking a Production Maintenance technician to maintain and operate all production plant equipment, systems, buildings and utilities. Responsibilities include installation, testing, troubleshooting, and coordinating with CMMS to track asset condition and parts inventory.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience with automation controls, and the ability to work days, nights, and weekends on a rotating on-call schedule. Travel is intermittent.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years working as a maintenance or service technician.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working on or with automation controls equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift 55 lbs or more on a regular basis
• Must be able to pass a Background Check.
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, adjust, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot operation systems and components.
• Interface with CMMS to track asset material condition and parts inventory.
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor on all projects to ensure they are completed properly and safely.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and operate plant automation systems including HMIs, VFDs, motors, PLCs, servo motors and drives, sensors and control signals.
• Operate maintenance equipment and perform service calls on production equipment.

Production Maintenance is responsible for maintenance and operation of all production plant equipment, systems, buildings, and utilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install, test, adjust, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot operation systems and components.

Interface with plant Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to track asset material condition and parts inventory.

Work with the Maintenance Supervisor on all projects to ensure they are completed properly and safely.

Troubleshoot, repair, and operate plant automation systems Including but not limited to:

• HMI screens

• Variable Frequency Drives

• Single and three phase motors

• PLCs

• Servo motors and drives

• Analog and digital I/O including 4-20mA and 0-10V control signals

• Pressure, flow, temperature, level sensors

• AC and DC control systems

• Pneumatic control systems

• Gearboxes, conveyors, and associated control systems

• Serial and Ethernet based communication protocols

Operation of Maintenance equipment (e.g., tools, testing equipment, and meters.)

Perform service calls on production equipment (All equipment needed to run Pre-Pack, Bulk, Cups, Sanitation, and Batching)

Demonstrate the ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.

Be available for an on-call schedule to include days, nights, and weekends on a rotational basis with other team members if needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 5 years working as a maintenance or service technician.

• Minimum of 2 years experience working on or with automation controls equipment

• Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to lift 55 lbs or more on a regular basis. Occasional lifting in excess of 70 lbs.

• Must be able to work at heights and attain scissor lift and boom lift qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.

• There will be a 60-day training/qualifying period

• Ability to pass a Background Check.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Intermittent travel will be required to perform the role. The amount of travel will depend on the opportunities that are being worked at any particular time. Incumbent should expect to have a travel requirement average of 10%.
