Overview
Shift: 2nd Shift Hours are 4:20pm-2:50am - some additional overlap with first shift maybe required
Overtime is worked on Fridays and schedule requires
Type: Full-Time | Reports to: 2nd shift supervisor
We are a growing metal fabrication company looking for a hands-on, people-first Production Lead to oversee our 2nd shift operations, including welding, machining, and tube bending departments (Currently about 12 direct reports). Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Lead, coach, and support a team of skilled operators and fabricators on 2nd shift
- Ensure production goals are met with high quality and efficiency
- Set daily priorities based on production schedules and coordinate across departments
- Monitor safety, quality, and performance metrics, making on-the-spot adjustments as needed
- Serve as the go-to person for problem-solving on the floor
- Communicate clearly with 1st shift leads to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Provide backup coverage for the Production Supervisor
- May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
- Solid understanding of welding, machining, and/or tube bending operations
- Strong communicator who can give direction and feedback with clarity and respect
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop individuals and teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
- Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
