Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Production Machine Helper for 2nd shift (1pm–9pm). You will assist the machine operator, set up for runs, and help produce top-quality corrugated boxes according to customer specifications.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a high-volume setting. Must be able to read safety rules and manuals, read a tape measure, lift up to 50 lbs, and work safely on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in a high-volume setting.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull 50 lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the machine operator in setting up the machine for the production run, sheets, dies, etc.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position, and department safely and accurately.
• Maintain general knowledge and understanding of production processes and equipment.
• Perform routine adjustments during the production run and maintain production throughout the run.
• Perform all assigned work effectively and on schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety regulations.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
