Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring for a wiring technician role focused on planning, wiring, and testing complex control panel installations in accordance with NEMA, UL, and IEC specifications. The position requires reading electrical diagrams and recognizing defects, with responsibilities spanning material handling and maintaining records.

Employees will work in a safety-conscious environment, adhere to 5S standards, and may participate in Kaizen or team-based problem-solving initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Plan, wire and test complicated standard and non-standard wiring installations of panel boards and control equipment on machines and special package units to various specifications and codes, such as NEMA, UL, IEC etc.
• Required to understand and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and drawings.
• Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to proper supervision.
• Perform necessary material handling associated with the job.
• Maintain necessary time, quality, quantity and other records.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards.
• May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties. Including Kaizen events, 5S programs and problem solving exercises.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures and JHRA’s.
