Job summary

JBC Technologies, Inc. is seeking a hands-on manufacturing associate for our Madison-area operation. You will set up and operate shop machines, read blueprints and job orders, and follow documented procedures to produce parts to specification.

Emphasis is on safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment. Shift options include 1st shift Monday–Thursday 6:00 AM–4:00 PM and 2nd shift 4:00 PM–2:00 AM, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years in manufacturing or shipping environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, job orders, and specs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate shop machines following established procedures.
  • Read blueprints, orders, and diagrams to select dies and position equipment.
  • Record labor and materials usage in ERP system.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workstation and follow 5S principles.
  • Work as part of a team to meet production goals.

Job description:

4 Day Work Week!

Purpose: Perform all tasks involved in the production of JBC Technologies, Inc. products. This includes laminating, slitting, die-cutting and assembly work with various materials including foams, rubbers, metals, graphite, cork-fibers, and fiberglass. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sets-up and operate any shop machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, Job Orders, routers and diagrams to select dies, position, and secure machinery
  • Adheres to operating procedures/instructions
  • Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks per specification to run job orders accurately and maximize productivity
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
  • Maintain a clean and safe work station; follow shop 5S system
  • Embrace a team attitude that aligns with JBC’s Core Values
  • Accurately record labor and material usage in ERP system
  • Follow all JBC policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and perform basic math skills including counting
  • Ability to use various tools including tape measure, dial caliper, and other hand tools
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Basic reading skills for understanding drawings, Job Orders, and specs
  • Able to follow directions
  • Strong manual dexterity
Physical Demands:
  • Light to moderate physical effort required on a constant basis
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Protective equipment not required but available for nuisance dust
  • Protective equipment, such as gloves, required for specific tasks
Work Schedule:
  • Normal Schedule –
  • 1st Shift - Monday through Thursday, 6AM - 4PM
  • 2nd Shift – Monday through Thursday, 4PM - 2AM
  • Overtime scheduled as needed and may be mandatory on Fridays and Saturdays
Work Environment:
  • Work performed in a plant/production environment
  • Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
