Job summary

Custom Staffing is seeking a Press Operator for a second shift in Lima, OH. Starting pay is $17.00/hour. The role involves operating dies, tooling, and various assembly processes to produce quality parts, while adhering to safety and documentation requirements.

The position requires 1–3 years of related production experience, ability to work independently and in a team, and strong problem-solving skills. Cross-training across plant operations may be needed to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent field experience required.
• 1-3 years of production related work experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think logically under pressure.
• Experience with progressive and transfer tooling and fingers bars.
• Experience loading and threading coils.
• Work experience with blanking presses, press controls, and feeding equipment.
• Understanding for quality requirements of products produced.

Responsibilities

• Execute production activities in the Blanking area as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work-center.
• Follow goals set by Team Leads and Production Management.
• Work safely and efficiently.
• Be responsible for the functioning portion of the process including materials and parts.
• Complete labor documentation and non-conformance information as required.
• Document manufacturing process inspections.
• Communicate issues per the Fast Action Response process.
• Suggest ideas for continuous improvement.
• Read and conform to process documentation, maintain responsibilities.
• Assist in Process Reviews activities.
• Cross-train for other operations including Secondary Assembly as needed.
• Perform validation/sorting activities when necessary.
