Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is the cutting, bending, fabricating, and folding of sheet metal to create components used in assembling the finished product. Each job must be completed with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the production area.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate laser, press brake/turret machine, and other tools safely and effectively.
2. Create quality and accurate cuts, bends, and folds according to blueprints.
3. Follow and enforce all CDI safety rules and regulations.
4. Ensure equipment is properly set up and used safely, with safety devices in place.
5. Operate forklift if required and certified.
6. Perform inspections on products before, during, and after manufacturing, adhering to CDI standards.
7. Monitor equipment functionality and request maintenance as needed.
8. Perform basic and preventative maintenance and repairs.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1-year experience operating metal fabrication tools like laser, press brake/turret
• Must be at least 18 years old (minors accepted at Elk River, MN location)
• Attention to detail, multitasking, and time management skills
• Ability to safely use measuring tools and various hand, power, and pneumatic tools
• Willingness to cross-train in other departments
• Pre-employment drug test required
• Effective reading, writing, and speaking of English
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
• Ability to bend, twist, grip, squat, and lift frequently; lift 50 pounds regularly and 70 pounds occasionally
